Someone wrote in to the Totoket Times questioning whether this blog has been taken over by the Republican party. This is NOT the case. Neither party has control or authorized this blog, nor do they control me. I too find it curious as to the reason nbgop.org pointed their URL to this blogspot, but I thank them for the additional exposure.
It is interesting to see how quickly the letter brought the election cycle into play and attempted to cast a shadow over one party in town. I, and I hope others, don’t view this blog as negative. I have one motive, to educate and facilitate opinions and facts. It is important that comments posted to the blog distinguish between the two. Too often people in town have tried to try to convey opinions as facts. As for the election, we have some time before we start discussing that.
A final point, I support the individual, not party, in an election. I urge every resident to watch our public officials, listen to what they say, and stay informed.

Regarding nbgop.org. Go to http://www.internic.net You can search owners of domain names by typing in "nbgop.org" under the domain category in search "whois".

Paul Proto, who owns the NBGOP.ORG domain, added my name as an administrator today. Likely this was done after reading this blog. Below is the snapshot that I took of the domain registration yesterday, before my name was added.
I am not and have never been an administrator of the NBGOP.ORG domain. The North Branford Republican Town Committee is not affiliated with the NBGOP.ORG domain. This domain was used by the Republican party during Mr. Proto's term as chairman, before being ousted by the Republican town committee. A complaint will be filed with the Internic (Internet registration body) to request the removal of this fraudulent information.
The North Branford Republican Town Committee is made up of good people, dedicated to serving North Branford's residents. I encourage any registered Republican wishing to get involved with your local Republican party, to contact me for more information.

I must say though it is good to see the two Town Committee Party Chairman participating in this blog. Maybe it will encourage other Town Officials to do the same.
The name nbgop.org was bought and paid for by the NB RTC. That means they own it, not me. The only reason my name was on it is because no one else was willing to do the work at that time. To say that the RTC is not affiliated with nbgop.org is a complete falsehood. A simple audit of the RTC checking account will prove it.
Since I am no longer a member of the RTC, and the domain name belongs to the RTC, the person allegedly in charge of the party should take it over.
Should John lodge a complaint, he will be lodging it against something his party owns. Kind of like cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's not my domain and it wasn't my money that paid for it, so obviously I should no longer have anything to do with it. We'll let the Internic decide who the owner is. The name was paid for for five years, of which there are three left. If the R's want to kill it off, the party, not the chairman, should make that decision.
Bring it up for a vote John. If the party wants their money wasted, it's their call, not yours.
I’m not sure what is going on here, but it sure smells like sour grapes. I don’t appreciate Mr. Proto’s attempt to make this blogspot appear affiliated with a political party so I will not be posting anymore comments on this subject. Regardless of who owns what, I am not owned, affiliated or endorsed by any major party in town. I will reiterate that this blogspot is not for advancing individual’s special interests or personally and viciously attacking people like the owner of the former Totoketville blogspot enjoyed. Let’s move on folks to more interesting topics.
